Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
It's been a while since I've had an Eagles dream, but I've had one two nights in a row now!
I'll start with the one that's shorter.
I am in a house fighting with my brother and his wife (only these people don't really exist; I have no brother in reality). They are trying to pull some kind of scam on someone and I don't want to be a part of it. I know the name and address of the person they are going to scam - Barry Ames - and I go to warn him.
Suddenly I'm at the front door of the person I'm going to warn. I knock and the door is opened by Timothy! I'm not so much star-struck as confused. I tell him I have a message for someone named Barry at this address. Timothy says that Barry Ames is his real name and he invites me in. He and his wife are eating dinner and they ask me to sit down and join them.
I'm delighted! The kitchen is small and plain; the table is well-worn and the appliances are a little older. It's a very middle-class house, certainly not the home of a multi-millionaire, but in my dream this doesn't seem strange to me. I sit down and Timothy hands me a big wooden bowl filled with soup. As I eat it, I have to ask, "Why don't you go by your real name?"
Timothy replies, "Jean didn't like that name so I changed it."
I'm astonished - not only because she renamed him, but because of what she renamed him to. I turn to her and ask, "Timothy's a cool name, but why did you leave the 'd' out of his last name? People are always getting it wrong when they write about him."
"I just liked it better that way," she says and smiles.
I'm glad she's not offended as I realize my question could have come off as rude. I smile back. Suddenly the soup is all gone and we get up to go to the living room. It's also not very large, with an older TV set, a couch, a love seat, and a chair make up most of the furniture.
We all sit down to watch TV like it's the most natural thing in the world.
Then I woke up! I never did tell them about that scam. lol
Always in our hearts, Never forgotten
