According to CMT.com, "Sara Evans and rock group Maroon 5 joined voices to tape an episode of CMT Crossroads on Tuesday (Jan. 29) at the Factory in Franklin, Tenn. One of the songs they performed before a turn-away crowd was the Stevie Nicks-Don Henley duet, “Leather and Lace.” The show will air on CMT in May."

I bet that was interesting--but I really can't imagine anyone but Don & Stevie doing that song.

That will be interesting. I really like Sara Evans and I think she is beautiful and has a beautiful voice. She is actually from my area and b-i-l was principal at her high school.

    Don't know Maroon 5 though.

Somehow I can't hear L & L done by anyone other than Stevie & Don though.

In the May 2008 issue of Q Magazine, there's a great interview with Stevie. A sweet Don mention:

"Don and I went out in 1976. Don was really my first boyfriend after Lindsey. We went out for about a year and a half. We've managed to stay really, really good, close friends, all this time. I could call him right now and I love singing with him."

I'm surprised Q, with its hatred of all things Eagles, didn't edit that out.

Another sweet comment from Stevie about Don that I came across (can't sleep). It's regarding Leather and Lace, and it's from the TimeSpace booklet:

"I wrote this song because Waylon Jennings called me up and asked me to write a song called “Leather And Lace.” It was to be a duet for him and his wife, and I worked very hard trying to explain what it was like to be in love with someone in the same business, and how to approach dealing with each other. I have to tell you Mr. Don Henley was pretty much responsible for this song because he came over every day and told me to either start over, or that I was on the right track, and he made me finish it (because I almost gave up many times). When it was finally finished, Don and I made a very simple demo of it. And then I found out that Waylon and Jessi were breaking up and Waylon wanted to just sing it by himself. I told Waylon only four people in this world could sing this song: he and his wife, or myself and Don Henley. Don and I had been going out for quite awhile, and bless his heart, he did sing it with me, and again as fate would have it, it became one of the most special love songs that I would ever write.”

    Aw!

I actually have the L&L demo on DHO if anyone wants to hear it:
