Default Retro Technology News and Videos

I figured it might be fun to have a thread where we look back at how things have changed in technology using old videos.

1981: Newspapers on computer?? No way!

(We did something similar with Retro Commercials a while back)

Windows has definitely evolved. About every other version since ME is good......ME was awful, XP was great, Vista was awful, 7 was great, 8 is awful, 9 should be good lol. 95 and 98 were both good OS's for their time. NT 4 and 2000 on the business side was good. 3.1 (pre-95) was a bit of a mess but was more stable than prior versions. And yes, I remember working on 3.1 as a wee one. I messed up SOOOO many computer learning how to fix them (much like my guitar playing, I'm completely selftaught).

I think the biggest change to Windows overall in terms of what's changed since 95 was the lack of a start menu in Windows 8 - which did not set well with a lot of customers. I still get calls of people with new computers wondering "WTH?!". So I tell them to get either Classic Shell (good) or Start8 (great/better) and use that. It's a shame that Windows 8 is more fast than 7, but they had to put that Metro user interface in there to screw it up.

Not only have computers come a long way, but I remember playing video games with my kids and I thought Diddy Kong Racing was superb with all the graphics!
    LOL
