    Oh my freakin' gosh!!!

This isn't the thread for a rant, especially today, but long story short, after our Royal Oak pilgrimage, Soda, myself, and Houston Baby headed out to L.A. just a couple of weeks later for another Eagles adventure. If my memory serves me correctly, we had already planned this trip before Glenn passed away and one of the really special things about this trip is that we rented a house in Laurel Canyon just a couple of blocks up the mountain from Glenn's infamous 'Kirkwood Casino & Health Spa' at the corner of Kirkwood and Ridpath. Another highlight of this trip was our pilgrimage to Joshua Tree Park where we made our own special memorial to Glenn. You can read about this in this thread starting at post #659:

But before you go there, I'll warn you what my rant is all about ... you won't see the picture of the memorial that Soda posted. DAMN PHOTOBUCKET! I'm that Soda or HB has a picture of this saved because, I don't take pictures and, oddly enough, I didn't save this one.

Everyone has posted such beautiful tributes to Glenn, thank you. It makes the day somewhat easier at least for me. Very comforting.

So I starting digging today into all the stuff I've been collecting on my computer over the last few years but haven't uploaded and I've been spending the last couple of hours organizing files. I came across a short interview with Glenn and Natalie Maines from 2010, back with the Eagles were briefly touring with the Dixie Chicks and Keith Urban over the summer.

The interviewer asked Glenn the standard question about the Eagles' longevity, and Glenn talked about how much he loved playing the songs, but then the following exchange occurred:

Natalie Maines: "Do you them as much as the first day you played them?"

Glenn: "In some ways, I love them more, because I know I'm not gonna do them for that much longer."

I think we, the audience, could feel his love for those songs coming through as he played them.

    Thank you, Glenn.

    THANK YOU!!

Thank you to the moderators that keep this message board running and to all the dedicated Eagles fans who keep active on this message board.

I'm not on here that often posting but I do come on to read all the posts and see all the great pics.

This is the best place of healing when an artist like Glenn Frey touches our lives so much.

Today I found myself listening to the Eagles much more appreciative that we have this music to forever enjoy!

Thanks so much for finding the picture of our Joshua Tree memorial, Soda. And again thanks to everyone for all of your beautiful and touching posts today. It helps a lot to read them.

So this will wrap up my posts for today. This is to give links to the threads that cover our Border Gathering in L.A. one year ago to celebrate Eagles and the first anniversary of Glenn's passing. This is the trip that Brooke mentioned earlier and here is the thread ...

Soda also wrote more about our follow-up visit to Joshua Tree to memorialize Glenn in this thread (Post #830) ...

Well I have been thinking about Glenn reminiscing about the times I was lucky enough to see him perform, and the trips I have made with fellow Borderers all week really. I also set a goal last week of playing one of each of Glenn's solo albums each day between then and yesterday, and I acheived that aim. Even better, my brother had ordered Bob Segers CD for me for Christmas and it arrived on Wednesday, so I listened to that yesterday too. Yesterday I wore one of my After Hours t-shirts that I bought in LA when I went to see him there and also I wore a new bracelet which I bought before Christmas where the proceeds go to Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Desperada and I were overdue to meet up so we decided to meet last night and to drink a toast to Glenn . So we headed into the city centre to TGIF (Hard Rock being closed for renovations). We had a lovely evening catching up, had a meal and I had some Tequila Sunrise drinks as well. We texted Soda while we were there a few times. At 22:11 which was exactly the time 2 years ago that I heard the news (from Soda) we toasted Glenn .

Then we got some free balloons from the TGI staff and went out to the river - a 5 minute walk and set off the balloons in memory of Glenn

I will always remember Glenn as long as I live and am so thankful for his wonderful music and the friends that he brought me.

Soda, thanks so much for posting the Joshua Tree Memorial. Wow, what an experience!! I have been to JT many years ago on a quick drive thru and remember the area as being beautiful and definitly having it's own vibe. It must have been very poignant finding the exact spot the guys visited so many years ago.
