A story from the days when Joe "entertained" groupies:
"I had won tickets to see a Joe Walsh concert in L.A. at the Wiltern theatre. Backstage passes were included.

I talked my older friend into driving if I paid for gas.

We were told at the box office that they were no longer going to give us backstage passes. I was bummed. I had brought an album for him to autograph, too.

My friend and I decided after the show to see if we could sneak backstage. A huge guy with a red windbreaker refused to let us back, saying "You don't have a laminate. You're not going backstage."
We watched as two women walked backstage. I said, "They don't have backstage passes." He laughed, as my friend said to me "Those two things on their chest...are backstage passes."

I'm only vaguely familiar with Otis Taylor, but he has written a song inspired by the death of Emma Walsh.

Excerpt from "Banjo-strumming Otis Taylor plays a different style of blues":

"Lost My Guitar" [from Pentatonic Wars and Love Songs] is a metaphorical lament about the tragic 1974 car-accident that killed Emma K. Walsh, the young daughter of Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh, in Boulder, Colo. Taylor is friends with the girl's mother.

"Whenever I drive by 9th and Spruce, I always go slow because I knew that her daughter died there," he says. "It's always affected my life, that spot."

I don't know how many of you are familiar with The Onion, but it's a joke newspaper with fake headlines and articles that are often HILARIOUS.

Here's one of their headlines today:

Joe Walsh Executed to Keep 'Eagles Greatest Hits' Sales Ahead of 'Thriller'

I want to read this joke article BAD - I'm sure it's a hoot - but it's only in the print section and not available online!

I know it's supposed to be a joke article, but one should not make fun of stuff like that. KWIM

Hear hear. Of course it's funny. It is not meant to be taken seriously in any way.
