Thanks for those great pictures, Rick. You know I had always been one of those that said "Why would I ever go to see Journey without Steve Perry?" But, I think you all may have convinced me that it is worth it. This new young guy is awesome, and I agree that he looks and sounds very much like a young Steve Perry. I don't think they could have done a better job finding a replacement. Now, I have to hope they come my way again. They have played three venues this year within 2 hours of my home, but I didn't go because I said "Why would I ever go to see Journey without Steve Perry?" Now. I have to cross my fingers and wait to see what their plans are for next year.

I got a kick out of seeing guitarist Rick Nielson's collection of custom
made guitars. This guy is a hoot!

Rick-thanks so much for posting those. Wow- Robin Zander looks like he's gained a bit a weight and the hairs thinned a bit on top but looking pretty good. Tom Petersson is looking great and it looks as if Rick Nielson and Bun E Carlos haven't changed much at all over the years. They all aged very well!

A little personal story about these guys. When I was in high school, a friend of mine had 2 older brothers that had gone to school in Rockford Illinois with Tom, Rick and Bun E. When they came close to our little hometown for a concert, they got a bunch of us all backstage to meet them. Rick was a crack up and I remember very well being just awestruck by Tom and Robin. Of course I'm sure I made a complete idiot of myself by staring and drooling over them (hey-I was 14 or 15 and the were Rock Gods!) but it was something I will always remember and they were really great guys and treated us all so nicely.

Thanks so much Rick! Those are great. The guitars are something else!

I saw Cheap Trick with Def Leppard a few years ago and both were fantastic.

Thanks again for the fantastic pics, Rick. I think the guys in both Journey and Cheap Trick have aged well.

And that is a very cool story tbf. It is so cool when you get to meet these guys and realize they are normal people just like us (well almost).

    Default Journey

I thought I'd post a few pics of the Journey and Heart concert we went
to on August 21st at Freedom Hall in Louisville,Ky. If you like Journey
music at all, I recommend seeing them with their new lead singer, Arnel
Pineda. I was always a Steve Perry fan, but this guy certainly can fill his
shoes. I think he's 41 years old, but he jumps and runs around that stage
like he's 21. The rest of the band sounds as good as ever, too.
