Thanks for the insight Greg. I've no desire to see a tribute act, I guess you should just be sensitive to the reaction of your audience and respond accordingly, while retaining some integrity.

With the Eagles though, it's the music that is well known, rather than the personalities.

    I found this a couple of days ago;
    http://www.israbox.info/1146584570-t...good-2015.html

It's a recording by Tony Vegas, who plays Joe in an Eagles Tribute act, playing some of Joe's Eagles tunes. I couldn't resist it.

He copies the performances rather than the performer, primarily from the Eagles dvds. The ballads aren't so bad but, believe it not, Tony don't rock like Joe does.

I saw him with Talon. Just like Joe, he's the one you watch but he's probably a better singer - he did a good job of "Take it to the Limit".

Indeed, I've seen Mr. Vegas with Talon. Fine singer and guitarist, but I wasn't keen at all on how he copied every little thing Joe did, it got increasingly annoying as the show progressed. Whether it was copying the 'God, that's so nice' (or whatever Joe says) in Funk #49, or saying his wife calls TITTL 'The Credit Card Song', he did it just like Walsh, Frey or whoever did on Farewell 1. If I wanted that, I'd go to an impersonator, not a tribute band.

Well - me, my sister, and my niece went up to Leesburg, VA to see Jon's band, Eaglemania, last night. We didn't get a chance to say hello to Jon, but I did talk to his bandmate, Frankie Reno, after the show. I asked him if it was okay to post pictures, video, etc. here and he said it was fine. My niece got some of both, but I’ll have to wait for her to send it me be before I can post those. I had kept track of the set list throughout the show, but Frankie volunteered his copy as well - very nice guy, BTW.

As I said, I’ll write more later, but for now, I’ll just recap the show. I have to say these guys were very good and they laid it all on the line for a 3-hour, 29-song, high-energy performance. At $25.00 a ticket, that’s some amazing entertainment value. The show was structured very similar to a real Eagles concert – 2 sets with a 4-song acoustic set opening the 2nd set, and two encores. So here’s how it went …

    Set 1

    1.) The Long Run
    2.) Heartache Tonight
    3.) Witchy Woman
    4.) Peaceful Easy Feeling
5.) Try and Love Again (loved it cause it's the 1st time I've ever seen it performed live by anyone)
6.) Lyin' Eyes (plaintiff joke included)
7.) Take It to the Limit (high notes at the end provided by the audience )
    8.) Walk Away
    9.) One of These Nights
    10.) I Can't Tell You Why
    11.) Rocky Mountain Way
    12.) Dirty Laundry (jumping included)

    [Intermission]

    Set 2

    [Acoustic]

    13.) Seven Bridges Road
    14.) Tequila Sunrise
15.) Love Will Keep Us Alive
    16.) Best of My Love

    17.) Hotel California
    18.) New Kid In Town
    19.) Those Shoes
    20.) The Boys of Summer
21.) Get Over It (again lovin' it cause I'd never seen a live performance before)
22.) Funk #49 (extended guitar intro, and drum solo)

    [Band Intros]

23.) Life in the Fast Lane
    24.) Life's Been Good
    25.) Already Gone

    1st encore

    26.) Desperado
    27.) Take It Easy

    2nd encore

    28.) How Long
29.) Johnny B. Goode (don't know where this came from, but it rocked)

At the end, they lined up with their arms around each other and took their bows ... just like the real thing. If these guys come to a venue close to you, I would highly recommend that you check them out. You get to hear amazing music, including some songs that the Eagles will never play, performed by a very talented and enthusiastic group of musicians and singers. I'm really glad I went despite the fact that I didn't get home until 3:00 a.m.
