Nice 2013 nterview with Linda Ronstadt pre Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction where she talks about how she dislikes "prize shows" as well as the early years with the Eagles and how it was Glenn Frey who discovered Don Henley could sing. Linda is a great storyteller and has such a wonderful sense of humor.

Jack Tempchin is doing promotion for his new album and unsurprisingly it includes a lot of remembering Glenn.

Thanks Dawn and UTW. I think may get Jack's cd, although I normally am not a big fan of his voice.

Thanks UTW. He mentioned this album when some of us went to see him in LA in January. I'm looking forward to hearing it.

This is a memorial tribute by the Songwriter's Hall of Fame back in 2016. I did a search on this thread and didn't find it. There were some interesting details about the early days of Glenn's music career that I didn't know e.g. The Mushrooms appeared on a TV show.

Born in November, 1948, Frey first began putting out his music taproots in the glory days of Detroit rock in the mid-‘60s, with his first band, The Mushrooms. The group soon began appearing on the hot local TV show, Robin Seymour’s Swinging Time, and rapidly became a staple on the music menu of The Hideout, a favorite local teen hangout. The band’s first single record, released on the club’s own Hideout label, was produced by the young Bob Seger (2012 Songwriters Hall of Fame Inductee) prior to his forming his own band. The single, “Such A Lovely Child,” achieved significant local airplay and sales.

Was not sure where to post this

Jack Tempchin Premieres Video for 'Privacy,' the Last Song He Wrote

"Jack Tempchin, longtime collaborator and friend of the Eagles' Glenn Frey, is debuting a new video for "Privacy," a track on his Peaceful Easy Feeling: The Songs of Jack Tempchin album, available Friday (Aug. 25). "Privacy" was the final song Tempchin and Frey wrote together, though it was never recorded prior to the sessions for this album.

Glenn and I wrote this song in 2002, back when we both first became concerned about the issue of privacy," Tempchin tells Billboard. "To me, it’s become one of the main issues of our time, but most people haven’t woken up to it yet. This song and video illustrate that point in a playful and humorous way.”

What a shame that Glenn is not listed as a co-writer of any of the tracks. I won't be buying it although I appreciate Jack's efforts.

Good grief don't know how I missed this, thank you FP. I added my post to the Tempchin thread not sure what the protocol is ... do I delete my post here?

I hadn't noticed that Glenn wasn't credited as a co-writer on any of the tracks wonder what that is all about.
