Default My cover of Hotel California

Don't know if this is the right place to put this. But a little while ago I made a quick demo of HC but it was very quickly put together and basic. I finally got around to finishing it. There are still some mistakes.

Tell me what you all think about it.

    How do i embed it?

Did you play all the instruments on this?

Well done. Though, I think it would be interesting for you to spend some more time practicing the song and see what you can do spending more time on it than a 'quick demo'.

Not bad, and certainly better than most people who are only novice musicians.
That said, it is still a good beginning.
Needless to say it needs some tightening up, but you have the foundation laid for rapid improvement with practice.
Then once you get the technical aspects down, you can add some of your own flare to give it a unique feel, all your own.

A good example is when you hear Tommy Shaw of Styx play HC with Don Felder on tour. He is not Joe Walsh, but doesn't try to be. He adds his own style to make it a unique sound that fans appreciate.

    Keep up the good work.

You're very brave to post this, and you certainly do better than I could. Keep up the practice and be sure to post your progress!

I'm afraid I don't believe you can embed the soundcloud link.

I've given both versions a listen, and I'm impressed. They certainly have the right feel and I enjoyed listening to them. Very well done!

Although I think the final version is the better of the two, one thing I do really like about the demo version is the different 'guitar voices' during the solos. Although I think the final version is closer to the original guitar sounds, this part of the demo is also great, as it reminds me of the noticeable difference between Don F and Joe's guitars on the original track. I noticed the equipment list on your soundcloud page included an Epiphone Les Paul and a Fender Stratocaster - am I correct in guessing that you used the Les Paul for Don's parts and the Strat for Joe's in the demo? The 'Don' parts seem to have more of a distorted sound to my ears.
