Walter Becker, co_founder of Steely Dan, has passed away at age 67. RIP.

Another sad loss of a great musician. A couple of months ago, I watched a recent video clip of a Steely Dan concert and he did not look or perform well. When he didn't appear at the Classic West show, I knew it wasn't a good sign. I wonder what will happen to Steely Dan now.

RIP Walter Becker. Thanks for all the great music.

I'm glad I saw them 4 times, but this hurts... I like them even more than the Eagles.. I think they are my #6 all-time.....

I was born in 1982, and 99.9% of what I love (music, movies, standup) was made before I was born, and I'm beginning to have nothing left.... I never looked forward to an album.

I'm sad to acknowledge the bad news of another terrible loss from the great musicians of my youth. Condolences to all who knew and loved this talented man. The good news, as ever, is that the music lives on.

I wish Donald Fagen all the best as he decides how best to move forward with the band.

RIP Walter Becker. Really sad to hear this and Steely Dan was another band I grew up on.

I just caught the tail-end of this news on a BBC report. So very sad. I'm glad I got to see Steely Dan last summer, for the first and now only time. R.I.P. and thank you for the great music.

OT sort of: The New York Times obit said that Walter was the primary arranger in the Dan, which I found somewhat surprising.

His wife wrote a letter and tells us how he died. Poor guy. He was secretly battling cancer and he had just been diagnosed 4 months before he died.

    Brothers for life. RIP Glenn

I'm not sure I believe in fate, but I know that crossing paths with Glenn Lewis Frey in 1970 changed my life forever, and it eventually had an impact on the lives of millions of other people all over the planet. It will be very strange going forward in a world without him in it. But, I will be grateful, every day, that he was in my life. Rest in peace, my brother. You did what you set out to do, and then some." -Don Henley
