It's going to be interesting to see the Poco band dynamics in January.
I think Tim's probably the most successful ex-Poco member, maybe it's Randy Miesner, but when they were in the band, Richie Furey, Jim Messina and Paul Cotton would sing more songs and have a higher profile. Plus there is Rusty Young who must now be the band leader. Tim's replacement Jack Sundrud, has been in Poco a lot longer than Tim.
I remember when Randy rejoined Poco for a short time.. They'd perform Take It To The Limit as part of a medley. I hope Tim gets a decent spotlight moment.
I can't figure out how the golden era of Poco appears to be the time when they were all leaving because the band weren't successful enough. I'm sure they're worthy of the honour though.
Haha, yeah, if "success" is defined by financial earnings, industry prominence and amount of work from 1969-2015, I think it's fairly safe to say that Timothy B. Schmit has gone on to be by far the most successful of all of the many members of Poco. I'm guessing they'll do a medley that features each member in attendance appropriately - TBS will sing KOT.
Gotta love this article about the Poco induction - it includes our favorite video of Rose of Cimarron!!

Thanks for posting the link with the Rose Of Cimarron clip MaryCalifornia. It's the best Poco track in my humble opinion. It'll be great if they perform that next month.
I could never work out if Tim was lead singer or not so I'm delighted to see the clip. I guess it's Tim on harmonica too at the end. I've always thought the big strings at the end spoiled it a bit, especially the 6 minute odd version.
Isn't that Al Garth on harmonica (a bit) and violin? Brilliant on Glenn's Somebody Else and Let's Go Home, not so good on the Eagles HFO tour (again mho). (Ernie Watts and Jim Horn share the sax duties on The One You Love)
Rose of Cimerron
Rose of Cimarron is my favorite too. And Mary, I would agree that Timothy is by far the most successful ex-member of the band. That's why most of the articles about the induction feature the fact that he will be there. After all, he is a member of the band that had the highest tour earnings of 2014.
My pleasure! Timothy sings lead on many Poco songs.
He is their "big get," when they can get him, TJH is right, that's why these articles are coming out. As the chairman of the Colorado HoF says, he is gracious to make this appearance, it's not like he just shows up for the ceremony. He will have to travel to CO I'm guessing for at least 3-4 days for rehearsals with whatever lineup ends up appearing. That's a good chunk of his personal time before going Down Under with the Eagles.
