You don't wanna lose
After The Thrill Is Gone, ( not sure cuz that is you don't want to lose) I'm probable incorrect.
We were young
If you listen to the way it's sung, it sounds like 'you don't wanna lose' to me. I know EOC has it as 'want to' but that is not what I hear.
Yours is Is It True but these words also occur in Let's Pretend We're Still In Love ('we were young & wild').

Now you're back again
No, I didn't find 'we were young' difficult when I realised that as you were posting it was more likely to be a Randy song! I just mentioned that it appears in one of Glenn's songs as well just as an aside. The fact is that more people would know Is It True, let's be honest.
I will say one thing though & that is I prefer it when the phrase used makes sense as a phrase. For example if I were to use the first line of ICTYW I would use 'look at us baby' which makes sense, not 'at us baby' which doesn't. But that is just me. In the case of 'we were young' it makes sense as it is & doesn't need the 'when' in front of it. The rules state you can use as little of the line as you like as long as it doesn't become so generic you can't tell where it's from.
