I thought it was a bit odd as well but there are a few different links out there about it - apparently Don has 5 or 6 tanks on his ranch! ! Don't know if it's true or not but its

Too funny! Somehow, I just can't see that thing in Don's yard!

I can easily picture this. Since he has a tractor, I'm sure he'd love a tank. You know how guys like their big toys.

There's actually 'regular' mentions of Don in the press out there. I have no idea who this guy is, but he has taste...

In light of Don releasing another album soon, UCR gives us their take on Don's top 10 songs.

    http://ultimateclassicrock.com/top-10-don-henley-songs/

I think I more or less agree with these songs, but definitely not the order. For me, Heart of the Matter is #1. I feel it's not only one of the best songs Don has ever written, but one of the best songs ever written by anyone. I guess because it nailed an experience I was going through at the time, more or less. Like Hole In the World did for the events of 9/11, this song put what I was feeling into words and music, and helped me with getting some closure.

Nothing from Inside Job except for Taking You Home which I dislike. So my second favourite of his songs, Damn It, Rose is absent, as is what I think is his masterpiece, A Month Of Sundays. I know DIR isn't for everyone. I can't remember if I ever put together a Top 10 or not. The list focuses far too much on hits as opposed to quality.

Well, to be fair most all of these type lists do focus on the hits because in there is something to be said for commercial success and public opinion. I agree with VA - even though some of my personal favorites are absent, I think the songs that they chose are spot on. I would have included the same ones because these songs are all very high quality AND they have the added bonus of being commercially successful. Also, like VA, I do disagree with the order that they placed them in. Here's my personal ranking:

    1. The Boys of Summer
    2. The End of the Innocence
    3. Dirty Laundry
    4. The Heart of the Matter
    5. All She Wants to Do is Dance
    6. The Last Worthless Evening
    7. Taking You Home
    8. New York Minute
    9. Sunset Grill
    10. Not Enough Love in the World

I found a list of 15 tracks in an old 'make your own compilation CD' thread. If I were to make a top 10 I guess it would be like this:

    A Month Of Sundays
    Damn It, Rose
    Love Rules
    The End Of The Innocence
    Talking To The Moon
    The Last Worthless Evening
    Dirty Laundry
    The Boys Of Summer
    Goodbye To A River
    Lilah

I don't know if I should comment or not because I haven't had a chance to listen to Inside Job yet. (I will soon), but of his other albums, my top 10:

    1. Dirty Laundry
    2. Boys of Summer
    3. New York Minute
    4. The End of the Innocence
    5. All She Wants to Do is Dance
    6. Johnny can't Read (as a product of today's public schools in the states I love this song)
    7. Heart of the Matter
    8. I Will Not Go Quietly
    9. Sunset Grill
    10. Lilah

Building the Perfect Beast might replace Lilah.
