There is also a station in the Peoria/Bloomington, Illinois area called "the Eagle". I don't remember the frequency now, but it's a classic rock station that I listened to a lot the past few years while hubby was working in that area.

Btw, interesting article Fp. I've seen bald eagles around here, too, especially in the winter.

I particularly like the 'imperious gaze' bit. Perhaps this is indicative of upcoming activity by the human versions....
Our local news anchor noted this story this evening saying "The Eagles are making a comeback! I'm not talking about Glenn Frey, Don Henley and those guys......"

I was shocked that the guy (pretty young, maybe 25) even knew who The Eagles were! I'm proud of him for doing his homework!

A major road near where I live will be closed on July 22 for a 'special event'. A parade for Don's 60th birthday!!!

I just finished The Duke by Gaelen Foley. At the end, she writes a note to the reader about historical accuracy, and signs it - G.F. Need I say more?

This is a bit cheeky, but I think most people will understand why it reminds me of a particular Eagle.
Today an Icecream van was driving towards me with the slogan
"...........ices. SIMPLY THE BEST" painted on it

(Well thats what I thought of the minute I read the slogan anyway )

Good grief, GA. I think I would've fainted if I'd seen that. It's a wonder that their ice cream doesn't all melt though with that 'hot' slogan!
