Is this an outdoor event? Hope you're not getting the rain we're getting here.

    PM, yes, it's outdoors.

Soda texted me while I was doing my church event and said that JD and the Straight Shots were there and playing. She was pretty excited about it.

The only good thing about seeing JD & The Straight Shots is that most likely you're going to be hearing some very good music after them.

Jazz Fest was terrific! I'm sunburnt and exhausted, but it was worth it.

There was no rain, but the ground was a muddy mess from the torrential rainfall the days before.

While I was filled with dread when JD and the Straight Shots were announced and they did not rise above their typical bar band quality for most of the set, they brought out a local jazz musician to take over lead and as a result the last two songs (which were cover of hits) were good. I just don't like Dolan's voice .

Little Big Town were fabulous. Their vocals are amazing. I also enjoyed several of their songs. They reminded me of Fleetwood Mac in some ways. I'll be buying some of those songs off emusic.

Fleetwood Mac, of course, rocked the fest! They get their own post, which I'll write up tonight after I get home (currently still at hotel with my friends).

Ooh Soda, you got to see LBT! I wasn't familiar with them until 2006 when they did Crossroads with Lindsey Buckingham. We got their cd and I liked just about every song on it. I'm not a big country fan, but they are one of a few I like. I haven't really kept up with them, except for seeing the video for their song, Pontoon.

    Anxious to hear about FM!

LBT is good. We do an electric rockin' version of Pontoon with a straight-time shuffle in my little band.

I have a confession----I like Little Big Town's song, Boondocks. Yes, that's right. I like a country song called Boondocks. Can't help myself, every time I hear it, I think of my childhood and my upbringing and it never fails to bring a tear to my eye. Shhhhh......

Glad you enjoyed the trip, Soda!!
