You came along and changed my life Glenn!!
UK: It's Now Or Never - Elvis Presley
US: Stay - Maurice Williams & the Zodiacs (covered by Jackson Browne on Running On Empty)
Australia: Save The Last Dance For Me - Drifters
Shoot, if Freypower can come out of the closet age-wise, so can I.
"I Hear a Symphony" by the Supremes was #1 in the States and "Get Off of My Cloud" by the divine Rolling Stones was #1 in the UK. I love both songs, but the Stones' music has its own shrine in my soul.
The Osmonds is my other favorite band. They're of course are now in second place behind the Eagles. I've been seeing them in concert since 2009.
Here's One Bad Apple. This was originially going to be a Jackson 5 song, but they turn it down. They were and still have very huge in Europe. Too bad the US kinda didn't take them serious because of their clean image.

Rock with You- Michael Jackson
US: foolish - ashanti
UK: hindu times - oasis
US: "The Three Bells" by The Browns (never heard of this)
UK: "Living Doll" by Cliff Richard (which I know well)
I find it more interesting to see what was #1 on by 18th and 21st birthdays
UK
18th "Float on" - The Floaters (which I have no memory of)
21st "Ashes to Ashes" - David Bowie
US
18th "Best of My Love" - The Emotions (which always annoyed me because it wasn't the Eagles song)
21st "Magic" - Oliva Newton John (I don't remember the song, but by then she would have been more popular in the US than the UK)
In the US, "Yesterday" by the Beatles.
Arguably, one of the band's iconic songs with a Guinness record of having the most recorded versions in history.
"You thought you would be satisfied, but you never will learn to be still."
Quoting UnderTheWire: "Float on" - The Floaters (which I have no memory of)
It's a classic slow jam. I love the astrological sweet talkin' - hilarious! Let us venture into loveland: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WclAFJSvyWw
Gotta love the powder-blue leisure suits, that is suave.
This is fun! Not sure how I missed it when it started in February ...
US -- Mrs. Robinson (Simon & Garfunkel)
UK -- Young Girl (Gary Puckett & The Union Gap)
