Nancy, I got my San Diego DVD today. Got the other stuff you sent as well. Thanks a bunch. It seems to be fine except about halfway through Livin' Right, I loose the sound. It comes back on during Heartache Tonight, so I'm not sure how many songs I miss - probably no more than 2 or 3. Just mentioning this so others can check to make sure theirs is okay.

That's how the original (my copy) is. It's how we got it way back when.

Yeah, it appears to be a source flaw, as the one I got from Jared on VHS had the same problem before I transferred it to DVD. Of course, one can't be positive of that unless one talks to the bootlegger who taped the show and therefore has the actual original. (But perhaps you have talked to him, L&M? Is that who you got your copy from?) It's a drag, I know, but we'll make do!

Edit: I think we probably only miss portions of two songs (Livin' Right and Heartache Tonight), as well as the entirety of the Heat Is on, but that's just a guess from looking at the usual set list and the timing of the gap (about 20 minutes, I believe - what with Glenn's talkativeness and the length of the other two songs, it sounds about right).

Jared got his copy from us so that explains why his copy is also missing the sound. We got it from someone who dealt with the original bootlegger and at the time a little missing sound wasn't a huge issue. Everyone was just glad to have a Glenn solo show on video.

I bet you are happy - and so are we all! I figured from your comment describing yours as the original copy that it must have been one of the earliest generations.

The only reason I asked if you got it directly from the bootlegger is that, as you know, things can change from generation to generation over the years. As a result, my practice is always to doublecheck with the trader if there's some kind of problem. Even the times I have dealt with the bootlegger him/herself, they have never minded answering the question. Most people don't take it as a personal affront if asked about flaws, as long as you do so politely.

But isn't it great how all these years later, it's still being passed around? The original bootlegger trades with more and more people, those people continue to trade it with more and more people, then those people continue to trade it freely... And eventually, it gets to everyone, despite occasional hoarders (we have some of those in the Fleetwood Mac community, sadly - Bree might remember the outrage of one group of hoarders a couple years ago when one of them decided to break ranks from the "elite circle" and trade Stevie Nicks' master reels freely). People's generosity towards me is what makes me eager to share what I get with others, as I'm sure it does with you and everybody else here!

LOL Nancy. This post reminded me of an old shampoo commercial from the 70s. Two people use the shampoo and they tell two friends and they tell two friends and so on and so on. With my sketchy memory why is it I can recall stupid things like that commercial??????

I do that too. I remember a commercial for Best Western that used to play when I was 7 or so, where they sang the number for the hotel - and I still know that number! I never dialed it, but that tune was so catchy!

    "Call 1-800-528-1234... Best Western!"

Oh, I do remember, I do indeed!! Drama drama drama!!

The commercial thing... I was at a Sheryl Crow performance last November here in Toronto, it was a live TV thing... And she was talking about how she got her start. She wrote jingles for various commercials, one of which being "It's a good time for the great taste of McDonald's!"

As soon as she started singing that, I could not only remember it exactly, but I could picture the exact scene of a Christmas McD's commercial with that song in it...Grimace and Ronald and Hamburglar et. al. are skating around on a skating rink... I don't remember what I did yesterday, why do I recall a commercial from when I was 4?

My friend and I: "Nice coat Glenn!"

Joe Walsh, at next pause between songs: "Hey, nice coat, Glenn."

Glenn: "Thanks, thanks...yah, I picked this up at the..Liberace garage sale, glad you like it..." ;)
