Delilah, I believe you may be thinking of Bernie’s disapproval of the dubious tribute given to Gram Parsons’ remains by his friends, yet in mild California surfer language.

It was something like, “it’s really not OK to burn your friend’s body and leave it in the desert.”

Peneumbra - You really should write your memoirs ! You have such interesting stories that I love hearing. Mick Jagger should have known better than to hire Hell's Angles for security. I remember seeing bits and pieces of the movie on tv.

The two quotes were:

"You don't just leave him at the side of the road, half-burnt. That's not very cool."

"People have been killed in sight of the stage while the Stones were playing 'Sympathy for the Devil,' and everybody went 'this is a little not O.K.'"

The big naked dude in the video ended up getting pummeled by the Angels. It would have been nice to have more direct footage of the FBB.

Thanks for the quotes, SS! According to the Selvin’s book the Stones were performing “Under My Thumb” while Hunter was being murdered but the doc used “Sympathy for the Devil” for dramatic effect. Also, it was “Sympathy” that was referenced in Don McLean’s “American Pie.”

NMB, so true about Bernie!
