    Default RIP Lucy Casado

Just read Lucy Casado, owner of the restaurant Lucy's El Adobe Café passed away Tuesday night at the age of 91.

Don Henley was quoted - "Lucy Casado was a mother figure to much of the L.A. singer-songwriter community. Beginning in the late 1960s and early 1970s, she and her husband, Frank, along with their children, welcomed our rag-tag band of troubadours into their little restaurant on Melrose Avenue. She encouraged us in our struggling days and she delighted in our successes. We were all her children and we will miss her."

There are articles in the Southern California Patch and also the Los Angeles Times. I would link the articles however I am at work and the bank doesn't allow it.

RIP Lucy and thank you for taking care of our guys.

RIP Lucy Casado. That was so nice she and her family welcomed all of them and took care of them.

What a lovely tribute. When I visited Lucy's El Adobe a couple years ago, it was amazing to see and read all the autographed photos on the wall. Nearly every successful musician you can think of who was popular in West Coast rock and country was represented. And it's striking the warmth they convey towards Ms. Casado and her children. She must have been a great person.

Dreamer and I visited Lucy's also in January! Lovely place and I, too, was amazed at all of the pictures of famous people that enjoyed her place! She must have been quite a lady!

    RIP, Lucy.

HB asked that I post a photo of us at Lucy's. I don't have any makeup on, my hair is frizzy, and I'm red and shiny from walking around outside all day, but... here goes!

I'm sorry to hear of her passing, too. She was an institution!

Nancy, face facts: you are young and very pretty. If you want to see frizzy, red and shiny, come to Steam City.

Thanks for the photo of the wall o' fame.

Great picture, Soda. Thank you for posting. And that's a nice tribute from Don.

    Soda and HB, great picture!

I don't remember if Dreamer and I had out pic taken there, or not! Surely we did, but I don't remember seeing one!
