    Default Hutton?

Hi all I have another question for a topic:

Glenn says it to Bernie in the BBC clip of Witchy Woman when he says 'Halloween that ain't the summer ' then Bernie says it to Glenn before starting off How Long in the Dutch studios show.
Being from the UK I'm wondering is this is an Americanism and if so im curious to what it means?

You know, I never noticed that before... and I have no idea what it means! It's not an Americanism that I know.

I've heard a more extended version of that. Bernie's talking about Witchy Woman and says it was released in late summer -- around Halloween.
Then Glenn has to be Mr. Smarty Pants and says, "Halloween ain't the summer!" And Bernie says, "Well, whenever, then."
I suspect it started out as Glenn needling Bernie onstage and then it got a big laugh so they kept doing it. Musician humor. LOL.

Pippin - Thanks. I have not seen those you tube clips in a long time. I remembered Glenn telling Bernie 'Halloween that ain't the summer" remark but could not remember the story behind it. Smarty Pants Glenn indeed. I remember laughing when I first saw that. I think the was the only time I've heard Glenn say "ain't". My Mom was always saying "ain't in the dictionary"-lol.

During the Millennium show he said something like 'ain't it good to be here. Ain't it good for all of us to be here'.

Sorry, I don't hear either of them say "Hutton"--I reviewed them both just to be sure. Is it possible what you are referring to is when they call each other "pardner"? It's a cowboy type thing to say, so yes it's an Americanism. I always thought it was cool when they said it.
