Even though Joe is skunk drunk this is one of my favorite versions of "Life's Been Good."

Even when he was drunk, Joe was an impressive guitarist and an entertaining showman but I've never enjoyed the videos I've seen from his late 80s early 90s era, even though I love his neglected, 1992 Songs For A Dying Planet album. Joe was much better, with the Eagles, after he'd sobered up.

Around the time of the MTV Unplugged show, Joe toured with Ringo's first All Starr Band, which included stars such as, Ringo, Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Billy Preston, Nils Lofgren, Dr John and Clarence Clemons. Joe promised he'd bring some friends with him for the, MTV Unplugged recording, so they billed it as Joe Walsh & Friends.
Joe turned up with just, bassist pal, Rick Rosas, rather than the number of well-known friends MTV were expecting, hence the inclusion of, an out-of-his-depth, Jules Shear and an obviously, busking it, Dr. John. The whole show looks thrown together. Joe apparently, performed a solo version of Desperado but it's never been broadcast.

It's a bit more enjoyable watching it, in retrospect. At the time, it was a rare and troublesome exposure to my musical hero in decline...

I'd love to watch a genuine acoustic show from Joe, especially if he cut out all the funnies. He's got some great acoustic tunes.

Joe played at Coachella 2016 this weekend, with early guitar hero, Glenn Schwarz, as a guest of Dan Auerbach and The Arcs.

There were three live streams of the festival but I haven't been able to find the Joe performance.

I did find some footage of their earlier performance in Nashville though
It's great to see Joe hanging out with musicians, rather than celebs, execs and V.I.P.s:

Glenn's mic is very low in the mix. Whether it's intentional or not, I don't know

I saw some photos of Joe's performance at Coachella. Forgive my ignorance, I don't know who the older gentleman is, Mr. Schwarz - I shall look him up.

OT: VH1 is broadcasting "The Stratpack Celebrates 50 Years of the Fender Strat" featuring Joe, Brian May and some guy named David Gilmour I so wish I could see it but it's on at 6pm (Eastern) and I don't get home that early.

I got home earlier than usual and was able to see part of Joe's performance, namely "Rocky Mountain Way."

OT: Paul Rodgers was in unbelievably great voice - he's always good, but he was ageless and totally kick-ass on "Stay With Me."

Glenn Schwartz is the original guitarist for the James Gang. He's 78. Taught Joe a lot of what he knows.

Their full performance can be viewed here:

I know that this is for Joe, so forgive me for continuing the OT conversation. Stay with Me, as in the Faces song? I hope that their performance shows up on YouTube soon.

Thanks for the link MV. I look forward to hearing the stuff they recorded in the near future.

The Strat pack concert isn't hard to find on Youtube. Everybody, including Joe, shows up on Stay With Me:

That video is blocked for Americanos. Try this one - you can hear the audio, but there are still photos instead of video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmqq...4Jju3GHpdD6Faj

    Yep, the Faces choon.
