    Default RIP Margaret Thatcher

This is not unexpected & it is not the time to make any comments about what I felt about some of her policies. What I will say was that she was one of Britain's strongest & most effective politicians for most of her period in office.

She was also a deeply divisive figure who was hated by many:

I wondered if this sort of thing would occur & now it has.

News of her death came through here about lunchtime. Our Prime Minister described her as a 'foamidable' leader and commented that she had been a political influence not just in the UK but over the world. However I listened carefully and coukd not discern whether he intended his comments as positive or negative towards her. Probably neutral.

Her policies were loved by some and hated by others, and that includes her policies towards Northern Ireland.

    May she Rest in Peace.

Mrs. Thatcher tenaciously and dutifully served and honored the U.K. throughout her illustrious career.
