RIP. I loved his character on Frasier and his little dog.

He was such a great actor. Always reminded me of my grandpa when he was on "Frasier". I also loved him as Ione Skye's dad in "Say Anything" too.

He had a great role in one of my all-time favorite movies, “Moonstruck.” And “Frasier” would never have been as good without him.

    RIP

Oh my gosh, I forgot about that. Buffy, you *must* move to Los Angeles and become the greatest casting director ever.

I've seen Moonstruck several times, ages ago, but don't recall Mr. Mahoney's character Perry.

I wish I could NMB. LOL

I don't remember him in "Moonstruck" either, even though I love that film and have seen it so many times. It was one of the movies my Dad thought of as well as another one Cher was in called "Suspect" where John played a judge.

Very sad - my thoughts are with his family and loved ones.

YES. I remember him from Moonstruck too. He was in another of my favorite movies, The American President. Very sad news.

Loved him as Martin Crane! Wonderful actor, dramatic or sitcom roles, he was always very good. RIP John. I hope wherever you are you will find your favorite recliner and a can of ice cold Ballantine Beer.

He actually went a smaller university about an hour away from where I live.
