Looking at a map, the only "Oak Ridge" I find is Oak Ridge North which is just outside of Houston. If that's the case then Don's kids certainly don't attend school there. But if they're going to accept the invitation they'd better do it pretty soon...October 13th is two weeks from today!

Not sure if this is the place to put this or not. I'm reading Kicking And Dreaming by Ann & Nancy Wilson and there is a mention of the Eagles.

"Straight On" never started hail, but it also came together from another one of our writing retreats with Sue. When we brought that tune into the studio, we told bass player Steve Fossen to imagine "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" and to marry that beat with the EAGLES' sound. We were never a funk band, but we had spent so much time as a dance band in the early days, everyone could get with that groove when needed.

Personally, I'm not quite getting that feel in Straight On but anyways, I thought that was pretty cool.

Just got to that part in the book. It was at Elton John's birthday party and Nancy had just broken up with her boyfriend.

The news that I was single seemed to bring attention from all sides, and I had two of the Eagles, Don Henley and Glen Frey, flirt with me that night. But the one gent who was attached to my side all night was Bernie Taupin.....
