    Default J. Geils RIP

Of the J. Geils Band has died, aged 71. I couldn't remember their big hit and had to look it up. Centerfold. Or Angel of the Centerfold is how I remember it.

"Centerfold" was huge back then and the video got a lot of airplay on MTV. I still remember some of it. "Freeze Frame" was also a big hit. They were fairly popular during the 70s, too and at one point, the Eagles opened for them.

    RIP John Warren Geils, Jr.

RIP to J. Geils. There were another group my Dad was a huge fan of. The radio only tends to play "Centerfold" and "Freeze Frame" but he had some of their albums so I knew a lot more of their other songs.

I remember "Centerfold"... it was catchy and it had a really memorable video that was still being played when I started watching MTV in 1987.

    RIP.

J was a very underrated player IMO, great blues background and played for the song.

    RIP.
