I used to use youtube alot about 3-6 years ago. Now, I still use it almost daily, but mainly not for music anymore , except for actual music videos and songs that aren't available on Spotify. It wouldn't ioset me too much if some videos started disappearing. There are other sites that are very similar to youtube, Dailymotion for instance.

Welcome to the dark side, Austin.

After spending Decades searching and researching Joe Walsh music, I've got to say YouTube has become an amazing music repository. I'm able to rehear all those songs that were just distant memories of a moment in time.

I spent 25 years thinking Three Wheels On My Wagon (not Walsh related afaIk) only existed inside my head

So since I've been recovering I went ahead and got Spotify Premium.

I freaking LOVE IT!!! It's so nice having no ads and higher quality audio. It sounds awesome.

Highly recommended for someone who wants the best of streaming.

Music streaming has caught up with me. I already had a subscription to stream movies and tv shows but a few months ago, music was added to the package. I love it. "Bread" came up in another thread and instead of going down to the car to hunt for the CD, I found I could stream a "Best of Bread" at no extra charge as part of the package.

The other week, I opted for a classic guitar solo playlist, heard Joe Bonamassa, and went to see him in concert. And I find most of his albums are available to stream, again, at no extra charge. It's a great service and ridiculously cheap and it means I can explore different music with no financial risk to me. We'll have to see whether I follow up by buying more music.

I don't stream, I just download, that way I have it for life, especially if I want to burn a CD or DVD for someone. I'm a musician too, and though I have no money, my goal is just for people to hear my music. But you won't see my stuff available to download, but the bands you do see are probably already rich anyway.

I could see the argument of the Eagles not wanting bootlegs on youtube, because the quality could be bad, and that might not be great for their legacy, and there's nothing more annoying than flashing lights (phones) everywhere. When I saw the Eagles this summer, security kept having to interrupt the music by yelling at grown adults for not being able to pay attention and follow simple rules, especially during the soft acoustic stuff.

Just enjoy the damn show! What are you doing to do? Record the entire thing and say to yourself, "I can't wait to go home so I can watch this on a 5" screen"? The musicians were right in front of you, but you were too busy playing around. Don't ruin it for the rest of us!

The Beatles are putting their music up for streaming starting Christmas Eve. TBH I'll probably listen to more Beatles music as I don't have any of their CDs and only Revolver (my favorite) on vinyl. Not as a reward for doing so, but for easier access. I'm more of a Stones guy but you have to appreciate the Beatles.

Even more signs of how freemium streaming is the future.

Jason Aldean (country artist) removed his music from Spotify when Taylor Swift did but he just put all of his back on after realizing how detrimental that was.

Taylor Swift is the one who's holding out, and I can't say I like that. I don't listen to TS's music (not a fan of her or her music but that's for another thread) but if I did I'd be pissed if it wasn't on Spotify like everyone else.

I still say eventually Taylor will wake up and smell the green (Spotify) roses and change that for the better.

I'll probably listen to more Beatles music as well. I have The Blue Album (compilation) and Sgt. Pepper on cd, but I rarely play them. It'll be alot easier to go on Spotify and play "Here Comes The Sun" or "Revolution" than to do so on cd. Glad to see that they have seen the light like AC/DC and Led Zeppelin did.

Bob Seger is the main artist of my favorites who doesn't have any of his music on Spotify. I don't know why, though. Def Leppard only have their new stuff available (new album, the remastered Slang, and Viva Hysteria). I'd really love for High n Dry, Pyromania and Hysteria to be on there.

Well as of today The Beatles are on Spotify.

I wish Def Leppard and Bob Seger would join in the fun, those are the two I'm missing now.
