    Here's the quote from Bob.

Like Seger, Frey was drawn to soul music as a youngster. That influence ran through Frey's work, Seger said: "You can kind of hear it on 'Heartache Tonight,' a lot in 'The Long Run,' and a whole lot in 'One of These Nights.' That's why 'True Love' is my favorite song from his solo career — it's so Al Green.

This was never released, but I mentioned it in another thread. Glenn's vocal is vulnerable and beautiful. It's the Hell Freezes Over outtake of "Peaceful Easy Feeling".

In the below clip I'm linking to, the song starts at 3:30.

    Well worth a listen.

OMG - that is so beautiful. I'll still never figure out why they didn't include it on the CD and DVD.

A fantastic version. The only thing that bothers me slightly is the chorus (or something like that) effect on the electric guitar. It's slightly out of place IMO. Otherwise it's perfection, and I could listen to this version anytime.

Wow. I've never heard that before.

The Eagles were known for duplicating their recordings live onstage, so this is a very refreshing change. You can pick out the harmonizing vocals better on this. And staying on topic, Glenn sounds wonderful, although I still prefer his vocal on the original. Maybe because he's younger and his voice is breathier.

BTW, it breaks my heart every time I use past tense when talking about the Eagles now.

The other day, I gave that version of Peaceful Easy Feeling as my runner up, but I've heard a solo version of it that he did in 1982 and that's even better as he doesn't get drowned out by the harmonies and other instruments. It's just Glenn's voice (slightly hoarse and hestitant yet strong and almost pitch perfect) accompanied by an acoustic guitar and a steel guitar. It's very melancholy.

Beautiful version of PEF! Wish they would release the out takes from that show. Maybe we'll get lucky someday. Anyway, my faves are NKIT and WDIDWMH. So hard to listen to them now.😢
