The problem is that it's so jarring to hear his magnificent singing voice arising from an animatronic monstrosity... especially since he doesn't do the character Tennessee's dialogue (Tennessee sounds like a hick when talking) but just the music.

This clip shows them very briefly, but sadly the dialogue at the end was cut out. You do get to hear Don sing as Tennessee.

Back in the summer I bought this DVD just because Don was in it, didn't matter if it was for a short time, I wanted to see him. If I didn't totally love Don I would really have regretted my purchase because the movie is so awful and what were they thinking not having Don do the speaking as well as the singing? It's so stupid, the bear talks like a hick, then sings like DON HENLEY. WTF?!

At least Don looks good, and the songs aren't bad, it's just everything else that's bad, and the real Don is not even on for a full minute I don't think.

Just wanted to recognize that today is the 12th anniversary of the release of the movie, The Country Bears, featuring Don. Okay, perhaps not Don's most brilliant career choice, but this is cute, nonetheless ...

I don't think I've ever heard of this movie...doesn't seem like it would be a "Don thing" if you know what I mean...but I would like to see it anyway!

...Well it sure makes you wonder the things that some people will say. They can see black and white but they don't seem to notice the grey...

I know, even our darling Don makes some bad decisions, this is one of them!

I actually like this movie somewhat. It's probably because I was 7 when it was released, and I watched it as a kid . I've seen the "Country Bears" attraction at Disney world in Orlando, FL. (It's much better). The funniest part of the movie for me, is when Elton John gets mistaken for the gardener. Of course, seeing Don and Bonnie for a few seconds is cool, too.

Just want to recognize that today is the anniversary of the release of The Country Bears featuring an appearance by Don and Bonnie Raitt. They are the standouts in a not so very good movie.

    Happy 13th anniversary Country Bears!

I like the movie because it's a part of my childhood.
