Thank you, Miss Delilah! Hopefully we won't be looking at this storm again next week: some weather folk are predicting a crazy-arsed loop track, with Tropical Storm Nicole pushing Matthew back down south to Florida again.

Watching Matthew. Sad news out of Haiti, of course. Tracking east coast progress. Family in NC, so we're wary. Fingers crossed.

Thunderstorms here last evening. High winds. Thousands left without power. I was one of the lucky ones here.

94 F is the current temperature. It's supposed to be fall now! I'm ready to wear pants and a sweater to school. None of Matthew's outer bands hit southwest Georgia. Some rain would've been nice. It's supposed to cool back down on Monday.

My thoughts are with those affected by Matthew. Southwest Georgia is where aloft of evacuees went. The hotels are full. Mant businesses havr shown southern hospitality. For example, a local Golden Corral gave out free food.

This weekend will have the first cold weather of fallife, with highs in the low 70s and lows in the low-mid 40s.

We are on the typical Missouri weather rollercoaster. Last weekend it was 85F Saturday, 90F on Sunday afternoon, cooling some each day after, and this morning 35F with frost on the grass and ice on the windshield.

Next week it looks to be highs in the 60's and lows in the 40's each day which is more 'normal'.

Here in Steam City though, we're getting our first "cold snap" as the weather folk call it, with temps going down into the low 80s. Delightful!

It's Halloween, and the high today will be 90!! . This is a record breaking heat wave. I will not complain about the cold if/when it finally arrives and stays until March.
