A statement provided by his family reads: “The Money Family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully early this morning. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music.”

Money recently revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer.

“I Wanna Go Back” is one of my favorite 80s songs.

RIP Eddie. Thanks for the great music.

This is sad - another rocker gone too soon. I wasn't a huge fan, but I did like a few of Eddie's best known hits. I would say my favorite is Two Tickets to Paradise. My heart goes out to his loved ones. That was a very heartfelt statement that his family issued.

Like you, Dreamer, I was never a huge fan, but enjoyed some of his hits. I saw him perform in 1978 at Riverfront Stadium when he was the opening act for the Eagles. The Steve Miller Band was the second act. They all put on a good show that day. R.I.P.

My husband and I were talking about this the other day. I told him, if we live, we're going to see many of our beloved rock stars pass as they are mostly about 10 years or more older than we are. It started with Glenn.
