    Default RIP Alan Thicke

I just saw this on Facebook.

Alan Thicke best known as Dr. Jason Seaver on Growing Pains and the father of singer Robin Thicke has died. HE was only 69.

He also wrote the theme songs for Diff'rent Strokes and the Facts of Life.

I grew up watching Growing Pains and a lot of shows that came on around that. I remembered watching the game show called Three's A Crowd. It ran on the Gameshow Network from 1999 to 2000. I had just saw him on This Is Us two months ago.

    RIP Alan.

    Enough already!!!!

RIP Alan Thicke. I was so shocked to see this last night especially since he just guest stared on "Fuller House" season 2 and also "This is Us". It was so sudden and I'm so sad for his family. I too grew up watching "Growing Pains" and I loved that show so much. One of my favorite TV show theme songs and openings too. Alan is still one of my favorite TV dads and he seemed like one of the nicest people.

I just learned he wrote those theme songs. He wrote the one for "Wheel of Fortune" as well. I used to watch "Growing Pains" and I remember one particular episode where he sang "Old Time Rock and Roll" with his TV son.

    RIP Alan Thicke

That sucks. He was awesome on Growing Pains. Seemed like a genuinely kind and decent man. He did go out in the most Canadian way possible.

He was a Canadian actor that got popular in the US playing the dad on the sitcom "Growing Pains" in the late 80s and most of the 90s. I grew up watching that show and he'll always be one of my favorite TV dads. Leonardo DiCaprio even played the boy the family took in from foster care in the later seasons. He's guest stared in a lot of other shows like "How I Met Your Mother" (as Robin's dad), had his own talk show, and was recently in the "Full House" spinoff and "This is Us". He also wrote TV show theme songs in the 70s & 80s too, and one of his sons is singer Robin Thicke. He had the same 80s hairstyle as Glenn too for part of the 80s. LOL

Neither have I, and I haven't heard of many of the people for whom we have RIP threads in the Wonder forum.

So I'm guessing Growing Pains was never played outside of the US.

It was shown in Canada. I'm very familiar with Alan Thicke.
