    So sad to hear that this morning. Stephen was brilliant and his story was just amazing with how long he survived having ALS and being able to contribute to science still.

    He seemed to be a good sport when featured in shows like The Simpsons and Big Bang Theory.

    That he lived to be 76 with ALS is remarkable in itself. He was one of a kind.
