    Default Hello from New Mexico

Hi I'm new to this site and I wanted to see if somebody can help me?
The song "In the City" by Joe Walsh, is it a Joe Walsh song or an Eagles
song I know he wrote it for the sound track of the Warriors movie
and then it was redone on the Eagles Long Run album so is it a Joe
Walsh song or an Eagles song or both? and does anybody know who
play on the song from the Warriors sound track is it members of the
Eagles or Joe Walsh band members?

    Thanks

    Louie Sanchez

    Hi Louie and welcome.

You pretty much answered your own question. In The City was a Joe Walsh song before it was recorded with the Eagles. I don't know the personnel for the Warriors Soundtrack version but I very much doubt it was the Eagles. So it's both Joe Walsh and the Eagles.

The same applies to Guilty Of The Crime which appeared on the Robocop soundtrack before the Eagles recorded it.

    Welcome Louise

Here's another tidbit about "In The City". According to Joe Walsh, "In The City" contains the highest vocal note that he ever wrote for an artist to sing (the artist being Walsh <LOL>)

He passed this trivia on to fans at the concert he did at "Hard Rock" in Las Vegas with Stone Temple Pilot a few years ago.

Welcome, Louie! I know you'll enjoy it here. Do you have a favorite Eagle?
