And the concert itself was amazing. We had heard them practising on sound check while we were waiting for the M&G but had not SEEN anything. They were full of energy and enthusiasm. Dublin was their first show of the European leg and I think there was one slight error in the set list - but it was a very cute moment. I didn't take note of the set list as I thought I was recording it, but sadly the recording does not seem to have worked out. BUT there was no restriction on taking pics or videos, in fact I think they seemed to encourage it.

At one stage about half way through the guys left the stage and the drummer seemed to be doing a solo. When they resumed Tony Hadley and Gary Kemp had gone into a small stage between the end of the standing area and the seating area. They sang and then started to involve the crowd in singing 'Gold'. They were very interactive and were shaking hands with as many people as they could. They then walked back to the stage through the crowd again shaking hands.

Of course they sang all the old traditional favourites and the Dublin audience sang along with them.
They kept 'True' and 'Through the Barricades' to the end (I think Barricades was the encore - not quite sure) and then finished on Gold. I managed to record 'True' and 'Barricades'. Must get them onto youtube in the very near future.

Excellent night and well worth going to see these guys if they perform near you. We were tempted to get the enterprise to Belfast the following day for another dose!! Their tickets at 60 Euros weren't that expensive either.

A few pics in no particular order

Great pics GA! I love Spandau Ballet too. I saw them when they were last here in 2009....this is one of my pictures of them:

They don't seemed to have aged much at all - the rock 'n' roll lifestyle must be doing them good just like the Eagles!! Love how they went into the crowd and involved them - that really makes a concert! Kinda wish I went this time ....

BTW, We need a picture of your shoes now

OMG! I was at that concert too. I must have been sitting so near you because your pic is so similar to ones that I took! Think I was in seated row 7. That night there was no standing space, they had seating in the lower level in the arena.

I was in Block D, row 4...directly in front of the stage, I was probably about 10 rows or so behind you - you must have been in the posh seats on the ground level

I don't think they were posh! But I think they were released later than the general seats. Perhaps putting the seats there were an addition because I had been trying Ticketmaster for ages and just got seats way up. Then these showed up. A week later I won tickets so I gave them to my neighbours! The same neighbours were there the other night too!

    Those Shoes

I'm starting to refer to them as my 'lucky shoes'
