Pm, I'm so happy JB did another great show for you. Interesting that he did a cover for one of his encores. He has so many wonderful songs of his own. I was listening to Late For the Sky the other day and it had me in tears. I just know I'd be crying through his whole show. But I still want to see him.

Cathy - I am so happy for you! I loved reading your write-up and all of the little details you remembered. I'm THRILLED that you got quite a bit of interaction and that Jackson is on the mend. I've got to say, the bit about your hubby randomly leaping out of his armchair and yelling "MY STUNNING MYSTERY COMPANION!" at various moments in the lead up to the concert cracked me up! He sounds great.

I'm bummed for you PM! I'm sure you enjoyed it and all but I wish you would of known it would be a shortened show. Maybe someone who knows more about casino shows (Mike? Jess?) knows why that has anything to do with a shortened set. Were the tickets cheaper? Just curious. Hope it was worth your long drive and overnight stay tho. Keeping my fingers crossed for Peoria!

I realized that I meant to answer this and forgot. For 2nd row center seats but a shortened set at the casino we paid $176 each, through the venue. For Row B center seats at a full show at the Peoria Civic Center we paid $65 per seat at the Jackson Browne site presale. You tell me which was the better deal! Oh well, live and learn. I wanted to thank Brooke one more time. If it wasn't for coming here and seeing her post about the Jackson Browne site presale we wouldn't have got those great seats. Thanks Brookie!!!

You can clearly see how he appreciates the audience's applause.

Hopefully he'll tour next year with his band. I can see him struggle when he goes for the high notes now and he's already dropped the key to those songs, so I don't know how much longer he can keep touring at the pace he's used to. You're welcome, Pm! I sooooooo wanted to go to this, but our son is getting married in July and all my money is being saved for that right now! I hadn't even thought about it when the presale started. The bride's parents are footing her part, of course, but guess what? There's still lots for the groom's parents to take care of! I really didn't realize that till now and I'm in the midst of it!

I do hope Jackson will tour again next year. Somehow, somewhere, someway, I want to see him.

WOW!!! What a difference in prices and you got the longer show for the lesser money!! I will have to keep that in mind! Like I said before, the only show I ever saw at a casino was actually a very reasonable price so I didn't think anything of it.

Just saw Jackson Browne at the historic Orpheum Theatre tonight!

I wasn't sure I was going to go with all the flooding downtown, but I figured, "What the heck." I drove down there and while some roads were closed, Beale Street and the Orpheum were just fine. I walked up to the box office and lucky for me, they had a seventh row seat on the left center aisle! I was really happy, as from home I'd been pulling up last row, literally.

When Jackson came onstage, he commented that he'd seen how high the river was and it made him appreciate what he had when he thought of all those people losing their homes and possessions.

He told us he was going to play a lot of songs he doesn't usually play. Some of them I didn't recognize. One of them was a "pagan" Christmas song, one was a song about going to Cuba, one was a song where he talks about how he thought he was a child (he said he wasn't sure he was "physically able" to do that one because he almost never did it). I was happy to hear "Looking Into You," "Your Bright Baby Blues," "For Everyman," "These Days," "Running on Empty," "The Pretender," and "The Load Out / Stay." We didn't get "Late for the Sky" or "Rock Me on the Water" as I'd hoped, but I was actually happy he didn't do "Take It Easy" as it can't leave up to the Eagles version. He also did a Zevon cover - not "Mohammed's Radio" but another song I didn't recognize. He did "Cocaine" but he added what he called the "rehab verses" where he talks about giving it up. He did both of his songs about Little Jackson - "Rosie" and "Red-neck Friend." After "Rosie" he said that Danny Kortchmar thought it was a bad idea to record that, lol. He then played the Kortchmar-penned song "Shaky Town." He ended with "Before the Deluge" which seemed very appropriate!

The only sour note was that there were some jerks a couple seats down who thought the show was about them. Yeah, you call out names of songs you want to Jackson, but you don't try to yell out a freaking conversation with him. This guy would actually talk OVER Jackson! Example: "I wrote this next song about going to Cuba..." Guy: "I WENT TO CUBA!" Or Jackson would sing a lyric like "Don't confront me with my failures - I had not forgotten them" and he would holler "THAT IS SO TRUE!" Sometimes one or two of them would sing so loudly it drowned Jackson out. Folks were yelling at him to shut up. It was so lame. One of his buddies left to go to the bathroom, missed "Running On Empty," then came back and started hollering for Jackson to play it again. Thankfully the loudest one left about 3/4 of the way through and the rest quieted down a bit after that. At one point it had gotten so bad that Jackson even stopped and said something like "What are you guys drinking back there?" Then Jackson asked a roadie to bring him some rum, lol.

Some more "Memphis moments": he started to play "Love Me Tender" but then he forgot the words, so he gave up lol. He changed the lyrics in the "Load Out" where it talks about not knowing what city you're in, instead saying "You always know when you're in Memphis."

Afterwards some concertgoers and I walked down Beale Street and stopped to get some food. Nothing closes down there 'til 3:00 am, not even on a weeknight. The only exception is Sunday. It was pretty wild.

Overall, Jackson's voice sounded great. No missed notes. Very glad I went!
