So happy to see new Joe & Joe photo!! Classic Walsh!

Did anyone here grow up in Los Angeles? When I was a kid, in the early 80's, Walsh & Vitale took over an afternoon radio show for a week!! Utter insanity. I'd give anything to hear a tape of one of those shows.

I was a kid in Riverside in the early 80s listening to LA stations. I didn't know the Joes then, but I did know the Eagles. From radio I mainly remember KLOS, KMET, Dr. Demento and Mr. Bill! "Oooooh noooo"! I loved that when I was little. Later it was KROQ and Richard Blade.

I believe the Joe's were on KMET but it could have been KLOS. They had to use a 3 sec. delay. Obviously! I remember fans calling in. I remember them laughing, telling stories and playing records.

The guy at the door in the Joe & Joe photo looks familiar. Can anyone tell me who that is?

I'm undecided about these. What do you guys think?!?

They take a bit of explanation. From Mike Campau's website:

"A series of images I have made with famous portrait photographer Paul Mobley. I am working with Paul on his "Musicians" Book project in which he is shooting artists backstage before concerts, in their homes and at hotels while they are on the road. Paul and I brainstorm before each session and try to come up with ideas that best portray their personalities and artistic style. Wether it's subtle color and tone corrections or full out CGi and difficult composites, we do whatever it takes to make a captivating image."

I would like to see Glenn portrayed that way. They are bit too 'dark' for Joe. If I had to pick a favourite it's the third one.

I think I like the 2nd one. It's rare to see such a clear close up shot of Joe's eyes. I agree, they are a bit dark but they're also a bit cartoon looking so I'm not sure if I even like them. Ha!

I don't know who that guy is, but if you look even farther in the background, you can see signage for "Irving" - must be his dressing room, but the door looks like a bathroom door! How funny would it be if they put him in a bathroom, haha! Seriously, what is the deal with that door? Janitor's closet? Even funnier.

And, I must admit I don't really like those pics of Joe. They are so photoshopped, and not to good effect, they look like bad paintings. I really like everything about the 1st pose, though, except for what they've done to his face. Would like to see this shot without edits.

Wait, wait!! I think it's Michael Stanley. Hello, anyone else familiar with that artist? Both Joe's worked with him. Great reunion all the way around.

I like the Joe's photo a lot more then the weird photoshopped ones. I also like your description of them looking like a bad painting. I'd love to see the 2nd one w/out all the work on it. Joe's eyes are very intriguing in that photo.
