    Excellent! Well done.

You're right - the whole idea is not to push for speed, just to pace yourself and stick to the time intervals. (If you can't hold a conversation, you're going too fast apparently!) Also it's best to stick to the plan, even if you feel like you could do more. It's tempting to rush ahead and over-exert yourself, but doing it gradually will be better in the long run (excuse the two-pronged pun...)

I'll update tomorrow after my second workout. Hoping my legs feel less like dead weight this time!

Well, I completed my second workout today. I didn't push it too much because I felt some twinges in my right leg. I'm sure it's just the new impact and getting used to running on concrete... Still, I completed the workout. I'm hoping Friday will be a little easier!

    Good luck tomorrow, HH!

I'm thinking of joining in too. I looked at the link you gave, Troub, and it looks like a good program. I need to start doing some conditioning before my Fall softball season starts, so this might be a good option for me, along with weightlifting and strength training.

Yay! That's great. Having other people along for the ride is definitely a boost, at least for me.

Thanks! Maybe we should give you special dispensation for Friday's workout -- isn't it the day after James Taylor? I'm certainly going to be looking for dispensation after Glenn in Niagara Falls!! The only place I'll be running is away from security !!!

Be careful with your leg. If its your knee, stop as soon as you feel pain. Just walk.

Glad you're joining in, EF. The more the merrier! Let us know how you're doing. Any hints or advise is welcomed.

    I'm a jogger.
If you don't think jogging is right for you, walking is a good choice.

To teach myself to stay on a regimen, when I was younger, and starting out, I kept a journal of each day's (or week's) exercise: (miles jogged, for example) (or the amount of time and type of exercise written in a box for that day); and I also wrote down a list of the calories I'd consumed.

The journal sounds like a great idea. I'll probably start out logging time rather than distance, but I think it will keep me on track and will help me determine a pattern for when I'm struggling as opposed to sailing through the workout. Thanks for the tip!

    Day Two. Whew.
I didn't start out feeling too strong, so I did an extra few minutes on the warm up. That seemed to do the trick, cause I felt better almost immediately after the first few pace changes and remained strong till the end. Three words of advice -- Good Sports Bra. I'll be shopping today!

Ha, yeah - definitely a necessity!

I think I'm going to follow your lead with the extra warm-up. I might even throw some butt-kicks in there. My legs have felt ''colder'' and stiffer than they should. Hopefully it will do the trick.

I was hesitant to put this here because I wasn't sure if I'd be able to stick with it... but I am also on a plan. Not this running one, but a simple one of diet and exercise (an hour of fitness-walking every day). I've been on it for a month and have only cheated once, but still I've only lost 10 pounds. At this rate I won't get to my goal weight by the end of the summer.
