    Default Listography-Your life in playlists

My niece Barb bought me a book called Music Listography/Your Life In Playlists that is really cool. It has pages and pages of different lyrics from songs and every other page has a different topic for a playlist the you fill out like list your top twenty favorite songs, list the best songs of the 70's, list bands you do NOT like, list what songs you'd put on your makeout tape or list your top favorite male vocalists of all time. The only stipulation she gave me is that after I have completed the book, she wants to read it. It's going to be really fun to fill out and really going to take some thinking as I do it. Of course the kids & I got to talking about it last night and asking each other questions. My daughter came up with a great one for me--- Who is your favorite artist and it CAN'T be an Eagle? Like she thought I would tell her one of the Eagles --ok, so I would have but how dare she presume! Well my answer was Mr. Jimmy Page which my daughter said she figured I would say.

Anyways-I kinda thought it would be fun to include some of the topics in this thread and see what kind of list we all come up with. If people want to participate, we can change the topic with a new list name every few days.

    Here's the first one.....

Off the top of my head, the best duets include a few by no other than Stevie Nicks.

    1. Leather & Lace-Stevie Nicks & Don Henley
    2. Stop Draggin' My Heart Around-Stevie Nicks & Tom Petty
    3. Midnight Train-Jonny Lang & Buddy Guy
    4. Dancing In The Street-David Bowie & Mick Jagger
    5. Don't Give Up-Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush
    6. Beast Of Burden-Bette Midler & Mick Jagger
    7. If I Close My Eyes-Ozzy Osbourne & Lita Ford
    8. Riding With The King-Eric Clapton & B B King
    9. Little Drummer Boy-David Bowie & Bing Crosby
    10. Walk This Way-Aerosmith & Run DMC (is it a duet when it's 2 groups together?)

No real rules here---no particular amount you have to list and really loose interpretation of what a "duet" is.

This is a great topic, Willie, but you are right that it will take some thought (at least for me). After the holidays, I may have more time to think about this and give a better response. I do agree with you about Leather & Lace being one of the all time best though.

Off the top of my head I like Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough with Don Henley and Patty Smyth.

Just a bit off topic - I always thought a duet with Don Henley and Norah Jones would be nice.

I spontaneously thought of these duets

Don’t Give Up - Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush
Where the Wild Roses Grow - Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue
Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough - Don Henley and Patty Smyth.
Senza Una Donna (Without A Woman) - Zucchero feat. Paul Young

I've always thought I'd like to have Desperado played at my funeral.
