RIAA Artists of the Century

I searched this forum and was surprised to see that we didn't already have a thread to recognize this event. It was on this date in 1999 that the Recording Industry Association of America named the Eagles as their pick for 'Artists of the Century'. That's a pretty darn big honor and I want to congratulate the band on the anniversary of this honor. So is there anyone else out there that was more deserving? Well, I may be a little bit biased but I don't think so!

I know I'm a 'little' biased as well, but it's all us biased people that made the RIAA select them, so it's all good.

It's not a huge deal, but just thought I would correct the record here. I noticed a discrepency on the board calendar and I think the blog calendar may be off by a day on this anniversary. I did a little research and confirmed that the official anniversary date of this event should be 11/11/99.

Thought I'd revive this thread to acknowledge the special honor that was bestowed upon our guys on this date in 1999. They were named RIAA Recording Artists of the Century in recognition of Their Greatest Hits '71 - '75 being the top selling album of all time in the U.S.

Congrats - The Eagles are the best!!!
