I especially love what Joe wrote to Jimmy:

    "Jimmy U DA MAN"

Absolutely adorable. Let's not forget that Joe gave Jimmy that Les Paul that Jimmy used all the time! Jimmy still has that guitar. Unlike Pete Townshend. Pete sold the guitars that Joe gave him. Sold them for HUGE sums of money. I read that Joe was NOT amused. Pete really needed the money at the time.

I love that photo too. It seems like Joe and Jimmy have a deep respect for one another and you gotta love the autograph.

And I don't blame Joe if he was upset with Pete Townsend for selling his guitars. Wonder what their relationship is today?

According to the Roadwork book by Tom Wright (2006) Joe and Pete rarely speak. Joe chocks it up to them both being grumpy old men. Made me laugh! So real. I often have to be reminded that the rock musicians I love are now all 60+.

I cannot stand Pete Townsend. He ruined The Who for me. Never understood his bitter attitude or his smashing of great guitars. Not surprised he sold Joes guitars.

Pete Townsend's attitude probably does leave something to be desired but I respect his intellect and lyrical gifts

Also, I'm a bit late in this I know but I want to say I love the Jimmy&Joe pic
