Still relevant...
"King of Hollywood" came up on my playlist this afternoon. With all the news about Harvey Weinstein, geez.
It was a little prophetic then. Just like "Love in the 21st Century", albeit on a different topic. (If you've ever seen "Catfish" on MTV, you know exactly what I mean.)

Yes, I think the "casting couch" has been around forever. I like "King of Hollywood" but I will now forever think of Harvey Weinstein when I hear it. Thanks Pippin!

Yeah, it's pretty potent listening. I could think of three other songs just off the top of my head about the same topic: "Hollywood" by Alabama; "Face on the Cutting Room Floor" by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band; and "It Don't Mean Nothin" by Richard Marx.
But our guys have been prophetic before. "Lyin' Eyes" is about beautiful young women married to or shacked up with old, rich white men. Anna Nicole Smith comes to mind, and more recently, well, the couple in the White House.
"Those Shoes" kind of covers the same territory. "They just want to get their hands on you..." or "Hollywood Waltz," which is about a woman formerly in that position now past her prime and living on the fleeting admiration of young guys. Sad song.
It takes a gift to be able to write these kinds of songs and make them singable and listenable.
