First of all AEW, I also enjoy reading your thoughtful posts even if I don't always agree with them. I love to read posts that are thoughtful, insightful, rational, fact-based, and objective such as the one you just wrote. Your posts are passionate without being emotionally-charged, which I very much appreciate. Even though I am far removed from the hipsters, you helped me understand where they are coming from. I absolutely see what you are saying about how they relate to LROOE even though I relate to it in an entirely different way.

And I can also relate to doing well with the word 'vomit'. I was ROFLMAO when I read that!

Joe, Glenn, Timothy, Irving Azoff and their bosom buddy Jim Dolan were spotted eating at Spago's in LA after the recent LA Forum press conference, according to the NY Post.

Following on from the AV thing, here’s an article on the Eagles at http://www.salon.com/2013/08/08/quit...mply_terrible/

I think you can imagine what its like. Basically, it’s saying that there are some ‘cool’ Eagles tracks (the less well-known ones naturally, some of them on the AV list) but any that were hits were too mainstream for any ‘cool’ person to like. Personally I loved the early albums and I love Long Road too (although I think it could have been a better single album than it is a double) and I love most of the hits too. Perhaps that’s because I don’t care whether or not I’m perceived as cool. I think the Eagles have always experimented a little anyway – albeit perhaps with an eye on the main chance – and I certainly don’t think of them as people with fewer principles than Gram Parsons or whoever. Or that they sold out. As Don H says they never shied away from social commentary.

Bill Simmons' article was fantastic. The line "There's a reason you won five Arrogant Musician Douche-Off championship belts over the years." really made me LOL, and was worth the price of admission alone.

I laughed out loud a couple of times on the bus, reading that article. Don winning the "pretentious douche-off" because of his facial hair and condescending gaze was particularly funny to me, as was the Glenn Frey, Raconteur reason.

    Very funny article...
