I was at my great niece's birthday party this evening... my niece and her family took a driving trip across the country earlier this spring...I was looking at their photo albums...I saw one pic and asked where it was taken...My niece's husband said "on a corner in Winslow Arizona"...I almost died...he said yeah we were singing the song when we were there...needless to say I was very jealous.
Very cool family there, zelda! They actually knew about that corner!

Lol Zelda! Reminds me of the time when Lou and Jess were 'stranded on a corn in Winslow Arizona'! I was jealous i wasn't with them!

That story with Jess and Lou is funny now, but IIRC, I don't think they were laughing at the time. Those girls were on a mission to get to the San Jose Eagles show and they weren't interested in getting sidetracked.

Yes! I remember getting a few panic texts from Lou at the time. It was a real case of 'alls well that ends well'
And poor Lou had also gotten one of the first planes in a week out of England to get there in the first place after the volcanic ash grounded all planes! Her nerves must have been in shreds by then. I know mine would have been!

And didn't they try to leave only to be confronted by a dust storm or something so ended up staying an extra day? I remember those panic text also. Somewhere there's a picture of them kneeling by the sign that is laying on the ground. Once they made it to San Jose, there were some gorgeous pictures taken and quite a few other Borderers there also, weren't there?

There was an article on the front page of yesterday's newspaper about the forecast that this would be a warmer than usual summer this year. Of course the title was "The Heat Is On"! Caught my eye right away!
