    I wanted Casey in the final two but I can't say I'm surprised he didn't make it. Watching the finale now - I'm not invested in either of these people honestly but I guess I'll go with Crystal FTW as the stronger singer unless she really blows it tonight. I won't be bothering to vote regardless now that Casey's out, though.

    I thought Crystal did give a better performance than Lee, but the way the judges praised her was over the top. I felt sorry for Lee after that. Good grief, could they try to sway the audience any more?

    Brooke,

    Normally I would agree with you. I could sort of feel them trying their best to find positive things to say about Lee...and his performance wasn't bad. But from all perspectives, last night, Lee was as good as ever he has been but Crystal really did just NAIL all three songs and demonstrated a lot more vocal expertise than did Lee.

    I would have felt it a real betrayal on the part of the judges had they not acknowledged the superiority of Crystal's performance.

    I felt sort of that way last year with Lambert (whom I did NOT like) when he went against that guy from Conway, Arkansas whom I've forgotten. Lambert just outperformed the other guy and as much as I disliked him, I had to agree with them. It was like the Judges knew that Lambert was going to lose and gave him prime roles in that finale. At least that is the way it seemed to me.

    It will be interesting to see how this upcoming night rolls out with the performances that really mean nothing other than for their entertainment value.

    Congratulations to Lee! I started crying when he got emotional. What a come from behind win! Great show!
