These are all some great choices. I really like the idea of Owen Wilson as a young Joe.
I wasn't able to find any good pictures to compare but I've always thought that William Peterson (Grissom on the tv show C.S.I.) shared a resemblance to Don. He's got the blue eyes and some of Don's mannerisms. I don't know if he could portray Don of today but I just think there's a resemblance there.

Such a fine sight to see."
Yeah, my top choice to play Joe would be Owen Wilson. I think Sean Penn would work, too. I also think Jon Heder could actually play Bernie if he discarded the geekiness and toughened up. But, hey, he's an actor, so it would be a challenge for him to see if he could pull it off - there is definitely a resemblence there to me.
As far as someone playing Glenn, even though Billy Crudup didn't actually play Glenn, his character, Russell Hammond, in Almost Famous was based on Glenn, and he did a great job, IMO. I can see some resemblence between Eric Bana and Glenn of the HFO era, so he may be able to pull it off.

OMG, I can totally see Don in this picture! It's the eyes and the little smirk... Funny. I've never thought about there being any resemblance before.
Edited to add: When I posted and looked at this picture next to my avatar, it freaked me out even more! SO similar.

This might not seem like an obvious choice, but I can see Zachary Quinto doing an awesome Glenn. He has a similar combination of features, I think... I could totally imagine him pulling off Long Run era Glenn!

I can sort of see Michael Pitt playing a young, very pretty Randy Meisner... He's got this great vulnerability about him.

Yup - Zachary played Spock!

Saw this on another site. There's a pretty good resemblance. Clark's pretty funny too, I've seen some of his stand-up gig.
For the current Joe....
