    Fact: there's no one good-looking enough to play young Randy.

    The late Terry Kath didn't look anything like Randy.

    You are soooo correct, nobody as gorgeous as Randy. Billy Crudup made a great Glenn like character in Almost Famous. But he's older now and doesn't look the same. And, he played J Edgar Hoover, ewwww!

    here are some I can think of:
    Leadon 1970s = can't think of anyone
    Leadon now = Aleister Crowley
    Meisner 1970s = Terry Kath (though someone shot down that idea)
    Henley then = Bob Ross
    Henley now = Robin Williams
    Frey = can't think of anyone
    Felder = Peter Cetera
    Walsh = Jeff Daniels
    Schmit = David Gilmour
    I fail to see even the slightest resemblance between David Gilmour & Schmit, even when Gilmour had long har, and why musicians would be cast as other musicians I don't know. I don't know who Bob Ross is, and as for the late Robin Williams once again I see not the slightest resemblance in any way. I'm actually glad you couldn't think of anyone for Glenn.

    I have to agree, FP, I see no resemblance between Don and Robin Williams either.

    Robin Williams as Don - how ????? In fact, why not go the whole way and have Danny DeVito playing Glenn

    I really hope you are joking with these names, Bob Ross looks like Jeremy Clarkson (formally of Top Gear UK) with a seriously bad perm and he looks nothing like Don did in the '70's!!

    I'm sure I've made this suggestion before. Dark curly hair, blue eyes and can sing. I know he doesn't sing like Don but he's an actor so maybe he could. I give you George Blagden:

    Much better choice And with a little bit of work, he might even get 'the stare' right

    The picture on his imdb page looks a bit more Don-like.

    While I'm at it, maybe Aaron Tveit could play Glenn. He's the one with the brown waistcoat and a certain intensity. George Blagden has the green waistcoat.

    the topic I was listing wasn't "who could play them" but rather who do you think they sort of look like - kind of a gut reaction or who on the top of your head reminds you of each member

    George really does look to me a bit like Don more than Glenn. As for Aaron Tveit, I'm a huge fan of his too and he's part of my fancast I'm working on as well but as Felder. Aaron grew his hair out and facial hair for a musical he did in England and for a bit on his TV show "Graceland" and he looked so much like Felder. I too noticed Aaron looking like Felder during the HOTE doc the same as I noticed Colin O'Donoghue resembling Glenn, and how both Aaron and Colin are musicians and have been in musicals too. Just not sure if Aaron can play guitar, but Colin does play guitar and piano and was in a band back in Ireland too.
