Border Rebel
Les McKeown of the Bay City Rollers
I remember Bye Bye Baby being no. 1 for 6 weeks and there's a snapshot of my sister and I looking sinister in Bay City Roller t-shirts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVxAj-Mis6o
I shed some tears.
Much later I found this song You Made Me Believe in Magic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95-NtJAJfbw

Perhaps first and last time the Rollers get mentioned on UCR. I think Les had a very distinctive voice.

Although I couldn’t say I was a fan, S A T U R D A Y night is a good fun song. That chorus rocks. RIP

Re: Les McKeown of the Bay City Rollers
I was a fan! Woody was my favorite. It made me sad to hear about Les. I listened to the Bay City Rollers on Spotify that afternoon; they had so many good songs! I loved Les’ sensitive vocal performance on “My Lisa,” from the album Dedication.
Secret Squirrel, were you in the Top of the Pops audience?!
