    Default Famous Eagles fans

(As ever, apologies if this has been done before, point me in the direction if so!)

I can remember reading in a newspaper over here years ago where the British actor John Challis stated he was a fan of the band and really liked Joe Walsh, and ever since then I have meant to ask on here which other famous people / celebrities (particularly those who aren't musicians) are known to be fans of the band? The only other one I know from the UK is the presenter Chris Tarrant, who selected Tequila Sunrise as his Desert Island Disk.

    Cheers

I think he meant real people, not fictional characters.

Scottish actor Robert Carlyle is. I remember he posted on Twitter after Glenn's passing. I'm a huge fan of Bobby's from "Once Upon a Time" but he's been in many films too like "Trainspotting", "The Full Monty", and many more.

I'm not sure about names, but the name "Eagles" pops up occasionally when I read about musicians. Steve Harris once said that Dennis Stratton, who played on Iron Maiden's first album, was listening to the Eagles at the time. Not that's he's famous, but he was in a band that became famous. Cliff Burton (the original bass player from Metallica) listened to the Eagles.

One I know of the Italian former footballer Roberto Baggio (their star player at the 1994 World Cup) - several sources state that his favourite song is Hotel California, and this website adds that the Eagles are amongst his favourite artists.

I know you asked for non-musicians, although I once read that Robert Plant loved the debut album and played it loads and loads when it came out, although I can't remember where I read this - I think it would have been from a magazine article from around the time Desperado was released.

I just remembered about Steve Martin, and that Stephen Colbert is and he did a nice segment after Glenn died thanking him, Don, and the band for writing "Desperado" as that was the song he first danced to with a girl at a school dance. I think I remember reading on here before too that Conan O'Brien is too, as well as Andy Richter. And sticking with the late night talk show theme I think Jimmy Fallon is. He loves 70s & 80s music and does so many sketches about it, as well as doing the same on SNL.

And Fred Armisen from SNL and "Documentary Now" is and why he came up with the Blue Jean Committee with Bill Hader who just liked the documentary. Not sure about Seth Meyers who was involved with it too when they first did the SNL skit.

But I do think the most celebs I know that are fans are musicians. Did find an article on Entertainment Weekly talking about when Glenn died and saw some actors and celebs tweets were mentioned too like Miles Teller (who was in that great jazz drummer movie "Whiplash"), Fred Willard, Andy Cohen, and Carson Daly.

ETA: Found more on this People Magazine article with Rita Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, and Hailee Steinfeld (a younger actress I've like in a couple movies, also sings and plays guitar, and met Glenn).
