Christmas presents - the term is also used in Australia, although I currently favour 'pressos'.
My husband always seems to get his own things from his obscure websites and by the time Christmas comes around there's nothing left to get him.

I don't understand that at all.
Of course I can understand him ordering signed and numbered CDs and T shirts from the Mike Keneally website because those are special. He gets stuff from Steve Vai and Rush sites too. But if it's something that I could easily order myself, from amazon.com. or amazon.co.uk, I do wish he'd tell me sometimes so I could get them.

BTW, thanks for the explanation about pressies. Maybe I will start calling our presents "pressies" over here and start a new fad!
I would go with mid-December (though I have been known to be running around Christmas Eve to get presents). I really hate how early the stores stock up for Christmas - how can you feel Christmassy in October???
Ask me again in a couple of weeks and I'll be voting for 'I can't wait for it to be over.' LOL
