Tears in Heaven (the version of Knockin' on Heaven's Door that I like best is Eric Clapton's)

Bob Seger songs: Still the Same or Against the Wind?

Your Smiling Face as Up On The Roof is a cover.

Rhiannon - it's my favourite Stevie Nicks Fleetwood Mac song, and my third favourite by them overall.

I thought this one up a while back but haven't used it yet:

'Hurricane' songs: Hurricane by Bob Dylan or Like A Hurricane by Neil Young?

Black Dog because the lyrics are slightly more interesting & the groove is a bit more varied. I passionately love both songs.

I personally prefer the original Layla, the acoustic version isn't bad but I think the iconic riff sounds better electric.

(FWIW, I would also have gone with Black Dog for AG95's Zeppelin question)

Can we please try & keep the choices to two as per the thread title 'This or That'.

I don't know any of those songs except for LRB's Lady so I choose that.

That's a tough one, I love both. But I think I'll go with Cortez, with its fantastic lyrics and guitar work.

Songs about cars: Highway Star by Deep Purple or Red Barchetta by Rush?

(It can be argued that Highway Star isn't really about a car, but I feel it's a more interesting and valid comparison with Red Barchetta than, say, Little Deuce Coupe by The Beach Boys)
